Mike Tyson’s 4-year-old daughter, Exodus, has passed away a day after being found with cord tied around her neck in an apparent accident at her home, Phoenix police said on Tuesday.

"Exodus Tyson was pronounced deceased at 11:45 a.m. today at the hospital. Our sympathies go out to the family," police spokesman Andy Hill said.

News reports said Exodus Tyson was playing near some exercise equipment when she accidentally got tangled in a cord hanging from a treadmill on Monday. She was taken to a Phoenix hospital in critical condition.

Police said the incident appeared to be an accident.

The girl was home with her mother when the accident occurred Monday. Tyson was not in Phoenix at the time, but was shown on television arriving at the hospital later that day.

President Obama selects Judge Sonia Sotomayor for Supreme Court nominee.

Judge Sonia Sotomayor once made the statement "I would hope that a wise Latina woman with the richness of her experiences would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a white male". Will the Republicans dare vote against the first Hispanic Woman for making comments like this? No doubt, they will have concerns during the hearings about her history of legislating from the bench instead of interpreting the constitution.

Sotomayor is a self-described "Newyorkrican" who grew up in a Bronx housing project after her parents moved to New York from Puerto Rico. She has dealt with diabetes since age 8 and lost her father at age 9, growing up under the care of her mother in humble surroundings. As a girl, inspired by the Perry Mason television show, she knew she wanted to be a judge.

A graduate of Princeton University and Yale Law School, a former prosecutor and private attorney, Sotomayor became a federal judge for the Southern District of New York in 1992.

California Supreme Court to issue Prop 8 decision.

The top court in California will rule on whether to uphold or strike down Proposition 8, a constitutional amendment that bans same-sex marriage. The justices will also decide whether the state will continue to recognize the more than 18,000 same-sex marriages carried out last year.

The opponents of Proposition 8 have appealed to the California Supreme Court to overturn the ballot measure. They are contended that the proposition is making a fundamental change to the state Constitution and therefore is a revision, which can only be placed on the ballot by a two-thirds vote of the Legislature. Proposition 8 was placed on the ballot after a signature drive.

TLC - Jon and Kate Gosselin marriage

You can’t help but love Jon and Kate Plus 8 on TLC. The children loving, fighting, and crying will remind you of your own. The show’s success, in part, is the personalities of the parents. Kate is strong-willed and Jon usually defers to his wife.

But late last season, Jon seemed to be unhappy with the show and acted like he wanted to stop taping. Kate ignored Jon’s concerns and pushed forward with the show.

What saddens me about the show is the lack of focus on the marriage. On the premier episode of Season 5, Jon and Kate proclaimed to viewers that they were both “there for the kids.” What is that old saying? If you love your children, work on your marriage.
