Judge Sonia Sotomayor once made the statement "I would hope that a wise Latina woman with the richness of her experiences would more often than not reach a better conclusion than a white male". Will the Republicans dare vote against the first Hispanic Woman for making comments like this? No doubt, they will have concerns during the hearings about her history of legislating from the bench instead of interpreting the constitution.
Sotomayor is a self-described "Newyorkrican" who grew up in a Bronx housing project after her parents moved to New York from Puerto Rico. She has dealt with diabetes since age 8 and lost her father at age 9, growing up under the care of her mother in humble surroundings. As a girl, inspired by the Perry Mason television show, she knew she wanted to be a judge.
A graduate of Princeton University and Yale Law School, a former prosecutor and private attorney, Sotomayor became a federal judge for the Southern District of New York in 1992.

I'd like to hear opinions about where should would potentially stand with regards to medical marijuana... anybody got a perspective on that?

Based on her being a Catholic I would think she would oppose that. If she allows her personal beliefs to sway her court opinions, that remains to be seen.
